What better place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day than the home of the Irish. The Fighting Irish, that is!
Here in South Bend, celebrating St. Paddy's Day is tradition and there are plenty of activities for all ages.
On Friday night, Downtown South Bend hosts the St. Paddy's Day Tent Party and Pub Tour with live music in a heated tent. Be on the lookout for food and drink specials at local restaurants along the way.
On Saturday, the "don't want to miss" events are the Parade in the East Bank Village and the Greening of the East Race. Claim a spot on Jefferson Boulevard and watch the parade. You'll see a number of local organizations some with bagpipes, many in kilts and even, llamas wearing green.
If you're lucky you might even get a handshake from Mayor Pete!
After the parade, follow the crowd down to the East Race to watch the St. Joseph River get dyed green.
By now you've probably worked up an appetite. Well no worries, there are plenty of local downtown restaurants serving corned beef and cabbage, green beer or other Irish specials.
So get your green on and come celebrate St. Patrick's Day in South Bend!
